The purpose of this newsletter is to share information regarding the Jefferson County JVS.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We have had a great start to the school year at the Jefferson County JVS! These first few months have been an important time for our students as they settle into new routines, build relationships, and begin developing the skills and habits that will prepare them for success in their chosen career pathways.
Throughout the beginning of the school year, we have placed a strong focus on safety, routines, and standards. Our students participated in schoolwide CPR and First Aid training, while several of our programs completed OSHA 10 training and additional safety and skills training specific to their career fields. These opportunities give our students an important foundation as they begin working with the tools, equipment, and responsibilities they will encounter in their future careers.
As we move into the next few months, the school year will begin to fly by! Our students will have more opportunities to put their skills to work as they continue to learn, grow, and gain confidence in their career pathways. One of the greatest benefits of career and technical education is the opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom. Through community projects, industry partnerships, work-based learning experiences, and school-to-work opportunities, our students are able to apply what they are learning in settings that mirror the world of work.
These experiences allow our students to do more than simply learn about a career. They give them opportunities to practice their skills, work with others, communicate professionally, solve problems, and experience the expectations of the industries they are preparing to enter. We are excited to continue creating these opportunities for our students throughout the school year.
As we look ahead to the months to come, we are grateful for the continued support of our staff, students, families, and community. Each of you plays an important role in helping our students learn, grow, and prepare for their futures.
We are proud of the work happening at the JVS and thankful to have so many people who believe in the value of career and technical education and the opportunities it provides for our students.
Thank you for being a part of the JVS family and for your continued support of our students, our programs, and our school. We look forward to all that the remainder of the school year will bring!
Sincerely,
Heather Hoover; Principal
